New Frontline Plus
Tuesday, 26th July 2016
Frontline Plus is a NEW double action flea treatment from Merial Animal Health. The same as Frontline Combo, which is still only available with a written veterinary prescription, Frontline Plus is available as an over the counter medication.
95% of any flea problem is actually in your pet’s home environment as eggs, larvae and pupae. New double action Frontline Plus not only kills fleas and ticks on your pet, it also contains active IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) technology that stops flea eggs from hatching and larvae developing in your home. This breaks the flea lifecycle helping protect both the pet and the home.
When treating your pet with Frontline Plus it is vital to weight them first to ensure that the correct dose is given, this will avoid overdosing as well as ensuring that they receive enough of the topical application to treat them for their body weight.
How To Apply
- Hold the pipette upright facing away from you. Tap the neck to ensure contents are in the main body of the pipette and Snap off the tip along the scored line.
- Part your pet’s coat in front of the shoulder blades until you can see the skin.
- Place the tip of the pipette on the skin where indicated and squeeze the pipette gently to empty the contents. Apply at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades.
It is important to remember that applying any of the Frontline products will cause the flea to become hyperactive and therefore more visible before dying. Pets can be allowed to swim or be bathed as usual from 2 days after application – provided not bathed more than once a week.
